So, as said in the previous post, the trip from Medellín to Cartagena was quite a memorable event with its 13 hours - at least I could get some sleep on the bus during most of it.
Cartagena is probably as touristic as anything in Colombia can get. Walking in the old town, one can feel like being in one of the cities of Andalucía due to the heavy presence of the colonial environment.
One point to make though is that the most of these buildings were built using corals, including the cathedral and the old city´s walls themselves... Like this, they managed to destroy most of the reefs close to the city. Good job, guys.
Apart from the historical center, another Cartagena was born not so long ago called Bocagrande. This is the new center for posh apartments and nice white-sand beaches. I made a short walk in this part on Sunday morning before heading out to Taganga, close to the Tayrona National Park.
Now the plan is to stay here until tomorrow and then head back to the west via Barranquilla (or Cartagena once more). On Wednesday, I´ll have my flight back to Bogotá and on Thursday, to Leticia, well into the amazonian rainforest. I hope it´s gonna be fun.
